Playbooks in BalkanID's API SDK simplify workflow automation for users, allowing for seamless integration across different programming environments. They enable users to automate actions like review, approve, deny, provision, and more, either based on specific findings or independently. Playbooks cater to a range of users, from non-technical individuals configuring actions through the interface to technically savvy users managing scripts, offering a customizable and efficient workflow solution. Whether triggered manually or scheduled to run automatically, each playbook maintains a detailed audit trail within the tenant application, ensuring transparency and accountability for completed tasks.
BalkanID offers a robust and seamless way to set-up, configure and send data to external playbook servers. There are two kinds of playbooks that can be enabled namely: global playbooks and integration specific playbooks. In this article, we will review configuring integration specific playbooks. Configuring integration specific playbooks is a fairly straightforward and easy process, designed to enhance system functionality and versatility on per application integration basis, while all data encrypted in transit. By following a simple setup process, you can effortlessly set up, edit, and utilize integration-specific playbook, ensuring smooth execution and efficient handling of auto-remediation of your playbook interactions on access reviews, access requests or findings in action center.

1. Go to Rules and Playbooks > Playbooks tab on your BalkanID tenant.
2. You will need to enter the following fields:
Name of the playbook
Description of the playbook
Playbook Recurrence: Enable it to run your playbook every time we sync your data.
Playbook Type: A playbook can be one of three types - Finding, Request, Review. Set up the type of playbook this will be.
Playbook Configuration: Provide an authentication token, if required, and the Server URL that should receive data when the playbook is invoked.
3. Select the integration you want to set this playbook for.
Once you hit save, the playbook can be used within the action types for an integration the playbook was associated with.
Voilà, all set! You will new start receiving data from BalkanID to your playbook server when any event takes place on the event in the system.
Note: While the Playbook Authentication Token is an optional field, BalkanID recommends to set up an authentication token for your Playbook server for security reasons while transmitting information over the Internet.
