With BalkanID Slackbot, any team member can request access for themselves to any supported application integration. Requests can be ONLY GRANT (provisioning). GRANT requests can be permanent or temporary (specified by end time, when the access is automatically de-provisioned).
By default, every access request goes through a review process. Upon successful approval of the access request by the assigned reviewer–either manager or application owner or whoever is assigned as the designated reviewer–the request will get fulfilled immediately.
The Slackbot home page shows details about the user in the BalkanID app, including the Name and the BalkanID role(s).
By clicking on "Request Access" button, the user can request access for themselves.
1. Request access similar to another team member:
In the "Access Like" section, select "Person" and then select a person whom you would like access similar to.
In the Access Grants field, you can either select few particular access grants (connections) or you can "Select all access grants" to choose all access that person has that you do not.
The duration can be either permanent, or temporary. In case of temporary access, select an end date to the access.
Lastly, select a reason and click on "Submit".
You shall receive a confirmation notification of access request creation.
2. Request access similar to another job title:
In the "Access Like" section, select "Job Title" and then select a job title you would like access similar to.
In the Access Grants field, you can either select few particular access grants (connections) or you can "Select all access grants" to choose all access that job title has that you do not.
The duration can be either permanent, or temporary. In case of temporary access, select an end date to the access.
Lastly, select a reason and click on "Submit".
You shall receive a confirmation notification of access request creation.
3. Request custom access:
In the "Access Like" section, select "Custom". This will display all the access options which you currently do not have, so you can request them.
You can either select few particular access grants (connections) or you can "Select all access grants".
The duration can be either permanent, or temporary. In case of temporary access, select an end date to the access.
Lastly, select a reason and click on "Submit".
You shall receive a confirmation notification of access request creation.
Access reviews are created when someone requests access or creates access review campaigns. Whenever an access review is assigned to a reviewer, the reviewer receives a notification on the Slackbot's messages tab which shows a summary of the access review and a link to BalkanID app's "My tasks" page, for the reviewer to perform actions on the access reviews.
Access review notifications will be automatically enabled once the BalkanID Slackbot is installed in a workspace and reviewers will receive access review notifications whenever any reviews are assigned to them.
