# Amplitude SCIM Integration Setup

### Getting started

BalkanID connects to Amplitude using Amplitude’s SCIM 2.0 User Management API to sync organization users and permission groups (and memberships).

{% hint style="info" %}
Use an **organization SCIM key** from Amplitude Provisioning Settings — not a project API key or Analytics API key.
{% endhint %}

#### Requirements

* **SCIM Key** (Bearer token from Amplitude)
* **SCIM Server URL**
  * US (default): `https://core.amplitude.com`
  * EU residency: `https://core.eu.amplitude.com`

#### Create an Amplitude SCIM key

1. Sign in to Amplitude as an org admin.
2. Open **Organization settings** → **Settings** → **Provisioning** (or your tenant’s SCIM / User Management provisioning page).
3. Generate or copy the **SCIM key**. Store it securely; treat it like a secret.
4. Confirm data residency (US vs EU) so you pick the matching SCIM Server URL.

Official references:

* [SCIM provisioning](https://amplitude.com/docs/admin/account-management/scim-provision)
* [SCIM API](https://amplitude.com/docs/apis/analytics/scim)

What BalkanID extracts over SCIM:

* Users (`GET /scim/1/Users`) — including pending invited users
* Permission groups (`GET /scim/1/Groups`)
* Memberships from `Groups.members` only (Amplitude ignores `User.groups`)

Amplitude SCIM does **not** expose a separate Roles API; project-level roles are managed via permission groups in Amplitude.

### Configure Amplitude SCIM within your BalkanID tenant

1. Log in to BalkanID and switch to the target tenant.
2. Go to **Integrations** → **Add Integration**, select **Amplitude SCIM**.
3. Set **Primary Application owner** (required) and optional description / secondary owners.
4. Under extraction / Direct Configuration, enter:
   * **SCIM Key** — the Amplitude SCIM key from above
   * **SCIM Server URL** — `https://core.amplitude.com` (US) or `https://core.eu.amplitude.com` (EU)
5. Click **Next**, fill **Optional Configuration** if needed, then **Save**.
6. When sync completes, status should show **Connected** and message **Data available**.

{% hint style="warning" %}
If you previously used Truto for Amplitude SCIM, generate a **new** Amplitude SCIM key for BalkanID and reconnect — Truto held the prior credentials.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.balkan.id/getting-started/setting-up-your-tenant/application-integrations/direct-application-integrations/amplitude-scim-integration-setup.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
