Onboarding Agents

Overview

This section explains how to onboard agents into your BalkanID tenant so they can be owned, investigated, and governed as part of IGA for Non-Human Identities (NHI).

Early Access: Onboarding and governing agents requires Agents (Early Access). Contact Customer Support to enable it for your tenant.

You can onboard agents in three ways:

1. Manual Registration — Register agents directly in the BalkanID UI.

2. Uploading Agents by CSV — Import or update agents in bulk from a CSV file.

3. Discovering Agents from Integrations — Extract agents automatically from a supported application integration.

Which method should I use?

Method	Best for
Manual registration	A small number of agents, quick onboarding, or agents that do not exist in a supported extractor
CSV upload	Backfilling or updating a large agent inventory
Discovery from integrations	Applications BalkanID can extract from automatically (for example, Anthropic)

After agents are onboarded, assign an owner (if needed) and associate the identities and credentials the agent has access to. See Introduction to Agents and Mapping Identities and Credentials to Agents.
